What Should Your Water Be Tested For?

“But wait,” you may wonder, “doesn’t my city filter out any contaminants that may exist in my drinking water?”

Yes, they do. But it’s important to realize that the water in your pipes still has a long way to go before it reaches your plumbing fixtures. As a result, it can pick up pollutants along the way, or even minerals like calcium and magnesium. We’ll get more into the latter below, but what’s important to know is that these minerals aren’t harmful to you, but are harmful to your plumbing. (more…)
